In Romans 6, Paul shares this, "For by his sacrifice he died to sin’s power once and for all, but he now lives continuously for the Father’s pleasure. So let it be the same way with you!" (Passion Translation)
We are in union with Christ, which means we now share in his death and resurrection. Since he conquered the power of sin and death by his resurrection, we too should be living according to this resurrection power.
